Dear Tony,

I am writing to you as one of the very few genuinely humanitarian
public figures in our country.

I am fighting a campaign on behalf of my mother (and thousands of
other older people) who suffer from dementia and are being denied the
health care they have already paid for.

My Campaign is not party-political but I am a great beleiver in the
NHS free at the point of use.

I have been reduced to fighting a legal battle against Bristol City
Social Services and Avon and Wiltshire NHS Trust to gain the proper
healthcare my elderly mum is entitled to. She was an intelligent,
active and hard working woman who paid her taxes all her life on the
promise that she would receive care in her hour of need.

All I ask is for you to lend a few words to my campaign and help bring
this awful and illegal situation to public attention. Please help stop
this brutality and restore some of the caring values to our community.
