Hi,
The Dinostar Opening was excellent.
We had a good attendance from the public, though less so the media (a big
local news story took the TV cameras elsewhere). Tony signed lots of autographs
and toured the exhibition. I was interested to hear that he had worked on
dinosaur digs in the United States and was very knowledgeable about the dinosaur
"industry" over there.
Tony took questions from the public and was both entertaining and
educational. He talked about the current dig, in York, and how his career has
developed
with Time Team and his other projects. One lady, a soon-to-be archaeological
student, asked about the York dig and if (with tongue in cheek) she could join
the second day. Tony replied by asking her to see him before he left so that
he could give her details of where to go the next day!
All in all it was a wonderful evening and a great time was had by all. It is
just a pity you can only have one Grand Opening!
regards,
Steve
