Solo show for Robinson
by Jeremy Austin
Former Equity vice-president and Blackadder star Tony Robinson is to
embark on his first solo tour of Britain.
Entitled The Worst Jobs in Britain: On Tour, Robinson - who has
enjoyed phenomenal success with his Time Team Channel 4 series -
tells the stories of the grass-roots workers who built Britain,
including the Gong Scourer, the Pipe Roll Transcriber and the
Tosher. He will also answer questions on his career and his work on
the Labour Party National Executive Committee.
Said Robinson: "This show is the love child of Simon Schama,
Alastair Campbell and Eddie Izzard. See it and you will be the envy
of your friends. Miss it and you'll probably contract the Purples or
the Rising of the Lights or some other symptom of the Great Plague
and die a slow, lingering death."
The tour opens in Brighton in October and runs for a month, ending
in Worcester.
