I was mightily impressed by Tony's knowledge of the issues involved
in Trade Justice for producers in the third world. I take my hat off
to him for his commitment to Oxfam and their campaign for justice
inthe rich world's dealings with the farmers who produce the goods
that we take for granted and want for as little as we can get them
for. This is not fair to the producers.
It was good to see him on the stage. I have known about his Labour
Party work for some time an I am glad that he puts his money where
his mouth is, metaphorically, with regard to Justice for all. Long
may he continue to use his celebrity status to highlight what we
need to do for fairness in our dealings with others.
I would love to meet him and ask him about his life, the bits you
don't read in biographies, and tell him how much it means to me that
what he does improves the lives of so many people in the poorer
parts of the world.
