This month I've been working on a new portable antenna to take out with me in
the car . The antenna will hopefully be for all bands from 160m to 10m.

The antenna is based on a 10m tall telescopic fishing pole. I also hope to
employ a DC - Grounded matching transformer to help the atu in my Kenwood
TS480SAT .

I've built the antenna & will post some photos shortly. I'm still
experimenting with different lengths of wire & testing the antenna in my garden
before putting it to the sword.

In order for the antenna to work on Topband , I will be using one of the coils
from my " Topband Homebrew Helical " antennas. This should allow me to use 1/4
wave of wire but less overall length to enable the antenna to work on 160m.

Regards to all the new members who have joined in recent weeks. I hope that you
have found the site of some use .

As always, I can often be found on 1.972 from 1830 hrs Local .

Happy Homebrewing .

Best Wishes,

Phil. M0VEY . Group Owner.
