Hi Andy, yes I do remember. Yes those Atlas's can end up with you being more
confused than ever. Biggest problem with Cichlids is that each species can vary
so much. It's really quite a technical process to identify each species, scale
counts, teeth number shape fin rays etc. So it's mostly an educated guess for us
amateurs!
Yes that species does turn up from time to time and in fact I'm pretty sure I
have kept them at some point. I think the only shop arounfd here that used to
get them from time to time was Arundel Street. Might be worth popping in there
sometime.

Hi Steve,
You might remember a while ago i was asking about Identifying some
fish i had rescued, as to whether or not they were possibly a cross
breed of C.Meeki & Nigrofasciatum, as they display Characterisitics
of both Species, i did post some pics into my album.
I recently was lucky to pick up a copy of Baensch Atlas 1 and now I
am confused again lol while looking through the Cichlid section I
noticed a similar fish listed as C.facetum (Chanchito) so i googled
for Images and got a few results back and nearly all the images
looked similar to fish I rescued.
Having never seen this Species for sale in LFS was wondering if you
had seen them around in any of your travels ??? in other aquatics
stores.
I do like my books but they do make my brain hurt lol
Thanks
Andy (just round the Corner ) lol
