Hi, i must be honest and say i have very rarely cycled a tank and to date have
not had any fatalities, by the way i run a fish house of 50 tanks from 18" fry
tanks to 4ft holding tanks, as long as you have test kits and are prepared to do
daily water changes then i would advise adding some of the smaller fish, the
waste they produce will help the filters build up the bacteria needed. Just
dont overfeedand test water at least two daily, preferably every day.

Hi,
we are a pair of complete novices starting a new 120ltr tank and
would welcome some advice.
Based on what we have read we are planning to cycle the tank for a
week to 10 ten days then stock the following fish in this order
about a week apart.
4x leopard danio
1 pair red neon dwarf gourami
6x guppies
1x gold spot bristlenose
1x siamese fighting fish male
2x kulii loaches
6x neon tetras
we figure on puting in 10 or so bunches of plants in before cycling.
if you can see anything that may cause us a problem or if you think
we just might have gotten it right drop me a line, any advice would
be gratefully welcomed.
thanks in advance.
p.s. i have posted this on another forum, so soz if you have read it
before. i am not knocking any advice given on the other board.
just seeking a broader opinion. ;o)
