Do you work with Crotalus snakes professionally or in your spare time and what
exactly do you do with them?

I work with groups of amphibians and reptiles in tropical forest (I’m
biologist), in Veracruz Mexico, for ecological studies, making capture and
taking some information for them, this place doesn’t have rattlesnakes, just the
venomous snake of genus Bothrops or “nauyaca - terciopelo”.

Have you got any pictures?

I send you in this message some pictures, the first is the most hemolitic snake
in Mexico, the second picture is a coral snake. Ninia sebae is a colubrid seems
like a Coral snake and last picture it´s me in field work with a "baby"
nauyaca... I don´t have now digital pictures of rattlesnakes , i going to send
these in another message later.

I'd be very interested to hear more on this subject - other than a couple of
decent TV shows that I've seen and the odd article in general snake books my
knowledge of rattlers is a bit limited.
Like a hobbie I help in a herpetarium, and occasionally for cleanness the
rattlesnakes, when is very very very very necessary I grasp them, have to
confess that is very exciting. Here in Mexico genus crotalus are well
represented, and some of them are biggest (like Crotalus basiliscus), Near
Mexico City only there are small crotalus. Many people have the belief that
crotalus “bite with the rattle”, “run and persecute you”… myths about these
snakes are many. That leads to the other work that I have: environment
education. My principal objective is that people don’t be scare about these
snakes, because they kill them.

There haven't been too many messages posted on this group recently but there are
several helpful/enthusiastic members so it’s well worth a try.
Well I’m enthusiastic and think that always is good meet people with same
liking, and wait more about you, do you have venomous snakes?
