reply that you are an American, please excuse me if I
am wrong in that assumption.<br> As a uk citizen who
lived through WW2,It seems to me that although the
U.S.tries to solve the worlds problems where appropriate
with diplomacy and aid it tends to use it's military
power much too readily, the U.S. appears to have far to
much confidence in it's military might to solve
problems.<br>Having said that, there is an exception in my opinion.
During the gulf war the allies should have gone further,
invaded Iraq and taken out "Sadam Hussien" and his evil
regime once and for all. His possible possession of
biological weapons is a source of considerable fear to me,
my family and friends!"Saddam Hussien" could be the
author of your present troubles! He has no reason to
love the allies especially America!<br><br>I believe
the Muslim extremists have attacked you because you
are the richest and most powerful nation, and
therefore the nation most responsible for their plight as
they see it! The u.k. will probably get it next, as we
are to blame as well in their eyes.<br>As an
englishman I admire America and support my countries
commitment to the u.s. in the present troubles. I feel the
most sincere sympathy for America following your
terrible tragedy, and feel intense sadness for the dead
and bereaved.<br>Both America and Britain should
realize that if you play with fire,eventually you are
sure to get burned!<br><br>According to todays news on
the B.B.C.where an ex S.A.S. soldier who has spent
time in Afganistan was interviewed,the ordinary Afgan
people are living in appallingly primitive conditions
akin to the middle ages and that most are facing
starvation in the near future. A possible solution to the
Taliban situation would be for the allies to provide
substantial aid,food and medical supplies, to the afgan
people and hope that they would have then sense to throw
the terrorist Talibans out of their country. I am sur
e that the Talibans wont be shifted from their
Afgan sanctuary by Military force.Russia <br>could not
subdue Afganistan by force and neither can America, the
terrain renders mass military<br>movement impossible! The
logistics of sustained supply and support would also be
impossible. Such an excersize would make the "Berlin Airlift"
of 1947 seem like a childs picnic.<br><br>America,
