was it the best record label ever?!
i'd say it was, but with 4AD a close second, as 4AD had Bauhaus,
Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Clan Of Xymox and Xmal Deutschland.

But Factory wins it, simply because of Joy Division/New Order,
Duritti Column, OMD, Cabaret Voltaire and to a lesser extent, the
Happy Mondays...but also don't forget the Hacienda, Peter Saville's
genius record sleeves and Martin Hannet's production of Joy
Division's lps+singles, which in my opinion are timeless.

does anyone agree with me?

ps..you should all check out Clan Of Xymox.
their first 2 albums ("Clan Of Xymox" and "Medusa") are classic 80's
albums.

No, Tony Wilson didn't believe in some of the bands on his label, which is why Crispy Ambulance, Minny Pops, and The Names were shifted to Factory Benelux....
