Dear People and Planet SocietyAbandoned Trolley Survey 2007What is this email about?
Quite simply we are looking for people / community groups / organisations to spare a couple hours at most of their time to walk along a stretch of Bristol's watercourses counting abandoned trolleys. When?
Before 9 February 2007.How?
If you can help I will send you a letter explaining more, a survey sheet to record trolleys seen and a map of the watercourse you intend to survey. Why?
Abandoned trolleys in Bristol City are a real problem. Bristol City Council is currently in the process of adopting new legislation regarding trolleys that will result in a new trolley collection service. The aim is to use an independent company contracted to collect stray trolleys throughout the city with costs incurred passed onto the supermarkets. Following a previous trolley survey in 2005 which you may have helped with, a second survey is needed so to be able to measure the future success of this new trolley collection scheme and locate current problem areas. Can you help?
It would be much appreciated if you and or your society could. If so please can you let me know by replying to this email. Please state which section of which watercourse you are volunteering to survey and where you would like the survey pack sent. (Can be emailed or posted).I look forward to your reply
Many thanksGuy Pluckwell
