Hello everyone, from the Association of Astronomy Education   Message List

Hello everyone,

I was looking through the Yahoo groups through curiosity to what
existed in the form of astronomy groups and found you in the
directory.

we have quite a few images of the Venus Transit on the
www.manastro.co.uk website where the Manchester Astronomical Society
opened the Godlee Observatory that morning to observe the Venus
Transit.

We received 159 visitors in total with passers by and students/Staff
form the University of Manchester coming in to take a brief glance
of the transit. It was a good opportunity to let people observe the
transit and also to let them know that there is a public telescope
available to be used in the centre of Manchester.

As a member of the Association of Astronomy Education we also have
just set up a new yahoo group to promote resources and efforts to
create awareness of astronomy in schools across the UK, Europe and
Internationally. If you are intersted in astronomy education please
feel free to join the group! You can find us at:
