Ralf took his first pole position at France this
weekend on his 26th birthday. In the race however he
finished second to big brother after his second set of
tyres were not 'up to scratch' and slowed him down. He
did lead for the first third of the race until his
first pit stop after making a clean start and making a
small gap between himself and Michael. David Coultard
was 4th after a being given a 10 second stop and go
penalty for speeding in the pit lane. Mika Hakkinen
didn;t even get to start after his car failed to start
on the parade lap. Ralfs team mate, Monyoya, drove
well but retired with an engine problem in the last
third of the race.<br>1 M. Schumacher Germany Ferrari
