As you know if you have been a member of virtualeclipselrp since it
was a Yahoo club. I set up a Yahoo group called
virtualeclipsliveroleplay.
I also have another club which is in US yahoo. What I am wondering is
does anyone have any ideas for us to use the other group for.
At the moment it is dorment but perhaps we could use it as a members
only forum or an in character forum. What do you lot think?
I have just found out in one of my other clubs that yahoo is
considering charging members. Here is a copy of a message posted in
Public Mouth by Splash Welly Kid. Stay in touch as we may have to
move! If this site goes down check http://www.larp.mywap.genie.co.uk
for the address of the replacement meeting place.

There are probably loads of articles online about Yahoo!s plans to
charge for services, so sign the petition today!!
Hi
Big Mac
lots of emails from you recently, have you got perm email access now?
Thanks for he update on Yahoo, it seems like they are suffering under
the current IT climate (yes there are a lot of companies laying off
at the moment), and a lot of dot coms are looking for ways to make
money and heaven foebid, actually make a profit!
I have seen this numerous times, a previously free service is now
being charged for, as they struggle to survive.
Well lets wait and see

No but I have a girlfriend in Southeast London a home in Southwest
London and an easyEverything in the middle!
I have recently had some spare time and updated the group site and
links.
I have a new computer but it is not at my place yet. I hope to have
electricity and a phoneline in my spare room soon so I can bring it
home.
Please excuse me if you get this message twice. It has not come up on
the website so I have assumed yahoo lost it!
Sparky contacted me 2 days ago and let me know that a plot is
currently being organised.
The game will not be for a couple of months. Approximately June or
July.
If you have any days booked up in the summer it might be worth your
while posting them here. We will try to book a day for the game that
everyone can make.
Big Mac
Sparky contacted me yesterday and let me know that a plot is in the
process of being written at this moment.
The date and location for the game are not fixed yet, but it will
probably be in approximately 2 months.
If you have any days that you can not make during the summer I
suggest you post them now and IF POSSIBLE we will arrange the game so
that you can make it.
Further details will be posted at the VE yahoo page as soon as I have
them.

I found a tutorial on this subject at Howstuffworks.com
http://www.howstuffworks.com/planet-hunting.htm
Check it out. Maybe it will give you a background idea for a
character or a plot. Imagine how good we would be at detecting extra-
solar planets by the year 302AI!
Hi all.
My June and july are filling up fast. I can't do any weekend in june
or the first weekend in July.... beyond that... I'm free for now.
Hmmmmmm..... busy man... I'll see you if I'm free... hope so.

Hi Simon,
Welcome to the Virtual Eclipse Yahoo Site. Are you the Simon that was
one of our founder members by any chance? I have forgoten his last
name.
Just in case you are I have to say you did a fantastic job with all
the game info about Valhalla.
While I am on the subject of "who did this" does anyone have any
historical infomation about VE?
Ermmm... No.
I'm the Simon, recruited at Gencon 99 and member since then. You
can't miss me I'm 6'7" and quite loud!
Oh... and I eat a lot :-)
Hope that clears things up?

Oops. Sorry for the mix up. This is due to:-
1) Lack of sleep while staying up all night designing a VE
favicon.ico picture (that works on any web site except this one)
searching for pictures of Mini-Wizards* and Pocket Repeats* and
learning how to put "bubble help" into the hyperlinks I added to this
page.
2) My bad memory for names**.
3) Being dropped on my head as a baby.
Mac
* I actually found an online museum for electronic toys while doing
this. See my Public Mouth club for the full story:

** ...or places, or facts etc etc.
Not a problem
I too have a lousy memory for names, I am suffering from lack of
sleep due to insomnia I've had since I was 16... don't know about
being dropped on my head as a child, but I've run it into enough dor
frames over the past few years for it to have had a detrimental
effect on my mind :-)
see you all at an event I hope... why don't you all post here???? :-)

I don't know if running into door frames makes you more suitible as a
Hawk Squad officer or a battering ram!
Most VE people are really quiet at the moment (hence the gap between
games). I know that many of our people are very busy. I think we need
to recruit a few more people to assist the committee members.
As for other people not posting. If you are getting lonely you can
chat to me or Desmond Hoo at Public Mouth.

Yeah... eventually... think I'm going to have to wait till June 15
before I get to see it though.
Going to see Dog Soldiers this weekend though. Anyone got any
views... without spoiling the story please... I don't want to know
the Werewolf did it :-)

So how was Dog Soldiers? I haven't seen it yet so a mark out of ten
would be good for now!
Hi All
Actually, for a british, low budget horror movie it wasn't all that
bad. I'm not sure if it was meant to, but it had enough comedy
moments to keep myself and my two companions giggling happily through
the bulk of the movie.
Some of the plot was a bit formulaic and anyone with a bit of
knowledge of Werewolf Mythos may be able to spot some (but not all)
of the plot coming.
The Squaddies made me think of several LRP and Airsofting groups I
have known and loved, not necesaraly true squadies, but good for the
film
All I really need to do now is wait for the memory of it to fade and
stick it in as a LRP game or tabletop scenario. :-)
BIG KEN RATING 7 / 10 (maybe 8 / 10 in places)
Worth Seeing
SKP
I shall go to see Dog Soldiers. In the meantime as we are still
lacking in LARP games here is a quick review of Star Wars: Episode II.
If you are looking for any plot information, you will not see it
here. Please go see this film quickly before you find too much out
about it.
I see you are still here. As anyone who has seen the other films
knows George Lucas has to steer the events of this film towards
Episode IV - A New Hope. This does tie his hands in some respects but
he still manages to come up with some surprises. The plot is well
writen with the actions of the characters being believable.
Jar Jar Binks is actually fantastic in this film. If only he had been
portraied like this in the last film there would have been no
complaints. Lucas is not taking any chances though as Jar Jar gets a
much smaller part than before.
The effects are great. Industrial Light and Magic have really done
well. I only hope this film and the next one don't make IV V and VI
look poor by comparison. The digital projection looks good and should
mean that the film looks good on DVD.
There were only 3 things that interfered with my Star Wars Experience
and all these were fogivable:-
1 The fans near me kept cheering, so I need to see it agian to here
the bits when certain COOL things happened.
2 There is an unintentially funny bit. "I was dreaming about my
mother"
3 Some bloke called Anthony Daniels came on and talked to us for five
minutes when we were waiting for the film to start! Go away and let
us watch the film whoever you are!!
;-)
I just saw X-Fire for the first time yesterday. (See the website at
the bottom if you have not heard of it).
I liked the costumes, the only downside is that the players are
in "over here" orange!
I would love to be in a X-Fire team. We really must get a Virtual
Eclipse team together. I would like to think that we could get a high
score on this program.
Who is up for the challenge? Are you still interested SKP? If we can
get the numbers up to five I might be able to get The Bean to help us
out.
Yours Waxlessly
Big Mac

yup, I'm stilll up for showing those other teams what a real group
can do. Count me in. As for the over hear orange... well, we have to
give the op-for a bit of a helping hand don't we ;-)

Hi all
Apparently if we want to put a team forward we have to send an
application letter. They want something that stands out sent to their
E-mail address.
So if we can get a team together we should see about using this here
board as a place to put together a really stonking letter.
Since I put the idea forward I'll volunteer to collate it all, then
post it here for constructive critisism :-)
