I feel like someone who hasn't played LRP for a long time! I REALLY
hope the day is good for this one.
Big Mac
PS Now all I have to do is buy some new boots, fix my UZI, fix my 2
tag pistols, attach my Fiat Lux sensor to something, fix my Mini
Wizard & paint my Go Repeat. Apart from that I'm ready!
PPS If I move at the spead of Mexal during the next game it is due to
role playing - I am not unfit honest!
Ah yes
Lack of LRP. I've done some fantasy recently, but my tagging skills
will be woefully inadequate. I will, as they say, be unable to hit
the long side of a certain agricultural building.
Nevermind. I agree, I hope we have good weather and a suitable date.

Hello everyone,
I haven't been online for several months due to moving things
including my PC around the house. I will also not be online for a
while after this so please phone me or write to me until further
notice - my email account from hotmail has been deleted by them for
non-use!
Well no VE Lazer Tag for a bit but thanks to NP we HAVE managed to do
two D&D games.
The players (now known as the Ossington Seven) liberated a village in
Cormyr occupied by an evil gang, they then got hired by the local
authorities to rebuild the farming community and also to investigate
problems at a monastary.
At the village near the monasary they learned of an evil black dragon
terroising the area and have set out to deal with it...
More news follows when I sort out my new PC!
Hi Bill,
Long time no see. I came here as soon as I found out that you had
rejoined the group. I do not have ANY contact details for you (and I
think other eople are out of touch too).
The only role play I have done recently is D&D (3rd ed). It is great but i
would love to do VE. Please phone me one evening as I am not on the
net much.

PS How is the Mrs & kid(s)?

I bumped into a guy in a chat room who is involved in a Star Trek
PBEM. VE has been a bit quiet recently so you might want to join this
game if you have spare time. I have invited him to post the address
here when he gets the time.
Hi everyone,
I just got off from the first days experimental use of the Modern D20
system for VE RPG. It has been interesting so far, especially the
amount of increase of player paranoia compared to a previous D&D
session.
I think a table top system based on the public domain D20 system may
be worth considering for the group as some of the aspects of the
Modern D20 system do not fit in exactly with our LRP rules. I believe
that if the rules are shared between RPG and LRP systems the game
will have a more similar feel and players migrating from one system
to the other will find it quicker to get started.

PS Thanks to Neil for overcomming a cold to organise the
game/character sheets/books etc
...Andy Brown?
I just decided to look for VE on a search engine and I found a site
made by this former DH player. Last time I remember him in a LRP he
was foaming at the mouth on the Celery Brain homeworld.
Here is the URL of Andy Brown's world for anyone else who remembers
him:-

Hi
We are trying to ascertain interest for some tabletop VE games and
also what numbers we could expect for a game later this year. We had
some ideas such as running some 1 day bootcamps for new members to
come along and find out what we were about and also to be able to go
straight into missions. If you know of any interested members then
please do get in touch.
Graham
Boot camps is an interesting Idead, but for one day events you're
going to have to choose locations a bit carefully.
I have a few who might be interested in the Leicester area.
and a few from Scotland.

I really enjoyed the Table RPG Neil ran at Kims, so count me down for
playing or assisting at any further VE RPG's.
One day games are a VERY interesting idea. Labyrinth used to get a
very big turnover of players just running 3 hour games. I don't see
why it couldn't work for us. We may attract some players who do not
like the idea of camping out.
I think revisiting locations on some sort of schedule may help if we
can build up a base of local players. Not everyone has a car and if
we built up a relationship with a local RPG group we would have a
regular source of new blood.
Boot camps are a definite must. I still remember my bootcamp, and the
training attitude at a bootcamp helps build people into a squad. If
possible we should make sure ALL our new players get a bootcamp on
their first mission.

Hi, have just been playing with the vector tools on Paint Shop Pro
and knocked up a CF Flag.
I'll give a mars bar to the first person who can tell me why it looks
like it does!
This is a two part challange as the icon in the center of the circle
is not as obvious as the background.
If you read what it says about the Centaur Federation in the Brief
Guide to History you should have all the clues to get it.
(anyone suffering can phone me for the answer in 1 month)

I am looking forward to the RPG game session this weekend.
If anyone has been missed out please phone me and I will try to make
sure a place gets saved for you at the next one.

Greetings all,
I'm thinking of running a VE tabletop game in the near future:
Probable Venue: My place, Crawley.
Possible Dates: 12/13 April 03.
Campaign: The game will relate to events that have taken place in
previous VE campaigns, but the PC group will never interact with any
existing LRP PCs.
Game System. I tend to prefer (non combat) activities to be
relatively freeform. For combat resolution, I have a generic small
arms combat system I've used for many years. I will adapt it for use
to mimic the VE LRP combat system, though with a few extras that we
are not easily able to do in LRP.
Please post a reply here saying whether you are interested. Please
post a reply anyway, becuase I'm interested to see how much viewing
traffic this group gets.
Cheers,
Bill

Sir John,
I have reviewed your plans for next years spending. Firstly, I want
to say I was favourably impressed with your proposals, nevertheless I
don't think they are going to translate into reality.
Now, before you stomp off having a sense of humour failure (I've
known you long enough!) its actually good news for once!
I just got out from a conference with the PM. Seems he has been put
under 'pressure from above' (figure that out!) to step up our
activities. As a result, I've been advised that we are going to see a
very substantial increase in funding.
The problem that I forsee is we can't just snap our fingers and
instantly increase our training programs. We're going to be under
double pressure - actually needing to pull personnel *out* of the
field to expand our training activities, at the same time that we
want to be increasing our field staff.
We are going to have to come up with some creative solutions to find
the personnel that we need, and my gut feeling is that we need to
consider recruiting outside of our traditional pool. We will have to
leave no stone unturned, I want to trawl through our files and locate
any suitable candidates from any walk of life. Remember we need
support personnel as well as more traditional field agents. We will,
as ever, need recruits from other star nations. Let us approach our
allies in the usual manner and see who we can get them to shake loose
for us!
We'll have to hit the ground running with this, so thats why I'm
contacting you during your well earned break. We'll need to meet
first thing tomorrow to get things underway. In the mean time, enjoy
your last day on the slopes!
Regards!
Hi Bill,
Sorry for the delay in replying. I am having problems with the modem
on my new PC and am using the old unreliable one to do this.
I am very interested in any VE roleplaying, except play by email
(only because my online activity is unreliable). I would like to play
in any tabletop game you get going.
I do like the idea of separate characters playing in the tabletop game
as tabletop does have a different feel to it. I also like the idea
that characters can visit a partially terraformed planet, or a
spacestation.
Please contact me via my phone if you do get anything going.

Hi guys,
I just saw a fantastic web page that lists stars within 100 light
years that could have earth-like habitable planets around them.
I didn't have time to check all the pages but the ones I did check
even calculate the distance an earth twin would orbit at.
I stuck the URL in the links folder in a writers tools folder if
anyone is interested.
I just found a website called 1 Source Laser Tag that has a place to
buy and sell lazer tag equipment.
So if anyone is after a Star Helmet for £19.99 or a Scorpian laser
tag grenade (WoW or Laser Challange compatible) for £50.00 the
address of their site is in the Links page (Lazer Tag section)
I just wanted to extend an open invite to anyone in the U.K. who
might find themselves in the U.S. this summer to one of the biggest
Hobby Laser Tag events in the U.S. for 2003.
If you are interested and would like to find out more...please check
out the following website:
http://www.tagcon.org/mw/
We hope some of you can make it...its always great to get ideas and
experiences from around the world together at one event.
Best Regards,
David Roman

If you haven't checked into our Yahoo Group recently, please pop in
to say hello and tell everyone what you have been up to.
We have a new member in the group from the USA called...
...suprise - suprise! It's another Sparky (unless Kim knows
different!)
He has invited Virtual Eclipse (and anyone in our yahoo group) to
come over to Tag Con USA!
Details are in his message.
Speak to you all soon.

Still here, Still loyal, still waiting.
Can't remember how long it's been since I saw you all. Living in
Sheffield now, Engaged to a wonderful woman, employed as a Health and
Safety Consultant and waiting for the next VE game.
I may even be able to make this one :-)

Hi
visited the War and Peace Fair on Sunday with Sparky, it was really
cool. We failed in one respect, visiting most of the exhibits, but
had success with 'aquisitions'. Arrived at 9.30 am and by 3.00pm
only just finished going round the stalls! Well worth the steep 12
UKP entry fee, and got to look close up at lots of guns, including
the Draganov!

...that's your home star system that is!

Hello, I am trying to contact Mr. Bodger about picking up some
smartsensors, but can't seem to find a working email. I thought
maybe one of you could help me. Thank you, ETn2(SW) Herda, USN
Hmmm.
Try posting a message of the uklazertag Yahoo Group. I know he
frequents that group on a regular basis.
Go for the sensors, come back here for the game :-)
Hello everyone,
The Virtual Eclipse website I have been working on is now ready for
publication. The kind people at brinkster.com have provided us with
free space for it to be tested. For now the URL is:
http://www32.brinkster.com/virtualeclipse/
I may be looking for a more permanent domain name later on, and will
let you know here if I get one.
Have a browse today and let me know what you think.
