Update on Pit fight film:
No date as yet but it looks like September is the best time so far. We have
a camera and a location - the quarry near Borwick (which is north wales).
The way I see this working is that we will get together and set up the
camera. Then each participant will sort out a 'character' or two and we'll
get dressed appropriately for it. I'll have costume and make up with me but
feel free to bring anything you think appropriate.
May set up an appropriate 'league' or 'cup' structure and let you all
compete in it. Up to each individual group of fighters as to whether you
fight 'for real' (i.e. simple LRP sparring and whoever is best at combat and
does a certain number of hits first wins) or 'stagefight' (i.e. set up an
outcome and work thorugh a choreographed fight). The latter will, of course,
allow more use of special abilities like strength and psionics.
There will be no OOC calls but you can use appropriate grunts and yells to
indicate use of abilities if you want to. The more IC noise made the better.
If anyone has any ideas for special effects, feel free to share them. If we
can easily set up some shots to see some blood or realistic wounds then that
would be good.
Commentry would be useful as well. I have an MP3 player which will record
sound and may make a useful microphone - so we record a seperate soundtrack
for the film commentry rather than relying on the microphone on the camera.
Commentator holds the MP3 player and speaks into it. UNless, that is,
someone has any better equipment we can use :)
