Hi!
Was intending to post about this tonight anyway... What with Artificer and
the fact that I am having to go all the way (by train and bus) to
Wolverhampton each day to work full time, I've not had as much time I would
have liked to sort things out. One of the curses of working as a supply
teacher....

OK, I planned on getting to Wrexham station at 11am, based on times from the
train time table. However, I can adjust this to try to get there for 10.
I'll need someone to meet me at the station if that is ok and it is probably
best if I go straight to the site rather than meet at Ian's - saves time all
around. Others can meet me there or go to ian's as they see fit.
I was going to bring the make up box and a lot of kit. However, that was
when I thought I was in the car :) So the make up (which is a fairly large
box) will have to stay at home. I can still bring a bag of kit and hopefully
some of the crew weapons.

I am looking at enough footage, including single page powerpoint adverts
which can be timed to change every 1 - 10 minutes depending on what we have,
to fill two evenings (from about 7pm - 2am). However, the fights themselves
only need to be a small section of that. I would be happy if we come away
with anything from 5 short fight scenes ranging from 5 minutes up in
duration. Can then intersperse them with fluff like adverts and news
reports.
Is it possible to put You Tube footage into a powerpoint presentation and
run it without the machine being connected to the internet? If so, I can
steal a lot from there... If not, then it is not possible.
As for storyboards - I think those who are fighting are the best ones to
consider that. Something exciting, bloody, dramatic and cool looking. It may
be best if those who are definitely coming make themselves known to this
list now so we can get an idea of how many to expect and how to arrange them
into an appropriate competition set up and who should win each match and how
and so on. Considering characters and names for the pit fighters is probably
also a good idea - especially as it means I can foreshadow some of it by
putting mentions of 'famous pit fighters' into various briefs before the
event in November :) Something like 'El Diablo, wears a mask. Finishes his
opponents by his trademark slash to the gut with a knife'
I will let you know likely time for my arrival in Wrexham later when I see
the time tables again.
David
