Sorry, I meant to add this into the last post... though I suppose it isn't
really a rules thing.

There was an idea given at the event (thanks to Daniel) suggesting a really
quite clever way to phys rep gate scanners...

At present we phys rep the gate sounds (as you all know) with a sound effect
played on an MP3 player. However, we phys rep gate scanners by refs walking
around and telling people with scanners when the gate has opened... not the
most efficient way of doing it.

Daniel's suggestion was to make use of the now legalised MP3 player
transmitter devices that are available. Attach one to the gate MP3 player
and all players with gate tech have a reciever worked into the phys rep of
thier scanner somehow which is tuned into the correcy frequency. As far as I
can work out, any radio reciever would work so the cost would be quite small
(radios can be got from pound shops these days). So, whenever we activate
the MP3 player to activate the gate, everyone with a 'gate scanner' radio
switched on who is in range of the signal should get a sound. If they are
paying attention they will hear it, if not they won't.

Those who get their gate scanning abilities by some innate non technological
means (Path of silicon dreams, dagdan shaman innate gate sense etc) can use
an ear piece and hide the radio somewhere discrete.

Thoughts on this? Especially from anyone with any technical knowledge who
may know the feasibility of this idea.

David

My view is that hidden ear pieces dont work very well. They are always obvious on Althari, and would be just as obvious on say a Dagdan Shamen, except they...

I like the idea, depends on cost and stuff again... Sarah's right, it could be a challenge to hide ear-pieces, then theres the inevitable unreliability of real...

Much as I like the idea of yet more excuses for Dagdan jewellery, my experience of wearing an ear-piece as Troy was not good. I found it very uncomfortable,...

Certainly be good to see Cybel credits actually being used, assuming of course the Cybel can persuade anyone to accept them :-) Well, there is that! :) I...

I think the chance of getting the Avar to use Cybel credits is very slim indeed. It would be a sure sign of them taking over. _____ From:...
