Yes, I've got it. Bit disappointing, really. He seems to have
restrained himself a bit too much, for my liking. There are more good
tracks with every listen, but it's a bit light on classic Falkner
exuberance. The lyrics do seem more personal than before, and maybe
he wants the listener to focus on them, rather than frequent leaps and
changes of chord and time.

Don't want to be too harsh, because I like it more with each listen.
But those demos doing the rounds are almost no indication of what you
can expect to hear on the album. Even "this life of mine" has been
reined in.
