Effects of culling for disease control   Message List

This article from New Scientist is basically about the spread of avian flu by wild birds.  However, it discusses the ecology of culling wild species for disease control and why this is ineffective, so it is also relevant to badgers and bTB.  It's well worth a read.

If you do read it, then also look at the 'resistance to the idea' link in the 3rd paragraph from the end, which is food for thought for all naturalists.
