Re: [wildlifeservices] Foxes

Phil,

We will shortly be selling a fox deterrent which works using ultrasound. Supposedly very good.

Regards,

Martin.

Certainly foraging as there are various dug holes plus a grow-bag dug out!  But I suspect they are playing.as well.

Are they foraging in your veg patch, or playing there??

Martin.

Subject: [wildlifeservices] Foxes

I have a family of foxes using my garden at present, a (presumed) vixen and 4 cubs.  This is in the built-up part of Maldon in Essex, and it has been very evident that the urban fox has increased considerably here over the last year or so.  I am somewhat amazed that the female can bring up 4 cubs in this situation - they certainly don't look under-nourished!  However, my garden backs on to an old people's home so suspect this is a rich source of sustenance.

I have no problem with them except they cause a degree of havoc in my veg. garden and I have wondered about some sort of deterrent for this area, possibly ultrasonic.  There are some that claim to deter cats, but the one I looked at said it didn't affect wildlife, so presumably not foxy.  This no doubt depends on the actual frequency emitted and I wondered if anyone knows if such a thing (or anything else)exists to deter foxes.  There is plenty of room in the rest of the garden for them to romp around, I just want to keep them off the veg. patch.  Any ideas anyone?

Cheers - let me know the details when you get them. The runner bean structure has survived since being put up 3 days ago - keep your fingers crossed. Phil ......
