Some landholders in Western NSW have been claiming that extensive soil
erosion is being caused by regrowth of native shrubs. They want to be
exempt from native vegetation laws and bulldoze bushland areas to deal with
the shrubs.

The Victorian Supreme Court has thrown out woodchipping company Gunns Ltd's
unprecedented legal action against The Wilderness Society and 19 others for
