In spite of having fish in his pond, a friend normally also has frogs and spawn but this year he has none. He has always had a filter system running but this has not affected the frogs in spite of causing some disturbance of the water. However, during last summer's hot weather he installed an aerator as well. This consists of a number of small tubes dispersed around the water area which give off a stream of quite small air bubbles. He was advised to keep this running, even through the winter, and wonders if this has deterred the frogs in any way. Anyone any ideas if this is likely?
