The annual training plan is from the Russion book that's been around
for ages.
As plans go it's probably as good as any but is really provided here
as a suggestion to base your own plan on - i.e. to do a bit
of 'tailoring'.
As far as we know the ban on shooting trousers has been put on long
term hold. I think the ISSF were scared by the suggestion of
lawsuits for back injuries.
I'd have thought that a back injury was more likely to be poor
technique but, who knows.
We do get our shooters to leave off their gear at times, even the
boots, although then I'll probably use a small platform of card
(targets) under the heels just to get the correct support.
As you point out it's very good for honing the technique.
