The Yuryev book is still looked on as the 'Target Shooters Bible'
even though it has been around for years. I believe it is still in
print. I think it's called "Competetive shooting by AA Yuryev" and
is available from the NSRA.
(Reminds me, must get my copy back from the person I lent it to.
They've only had it for about 4 years!!!)
As far as the stand is concerned, I think you're right. So long as
you don't encroach on the adjacent shooters space you're OK.
