Trevor Haynes (WMRTSS manager) sent out an email today (3/9/06)which
reads
"Last night Jean Coleman called to say Ken died on Tuesday , whilst
in residential care. He had suffered strokes and had dementia.
Ken was a leading light in pistol shooting in Warwickshire and the
West Midlands. A former ELEY employee he was a good shot in club,
air and free pistol, and a leading member of Kynoch and the county
pistol team.
He came to prominance with pistol and rifle with the ELEY
Supershoots and laterly the ELEY postal competitions. He was always
present at the ELEY caravan, for whom he handled publicity.
He was a county pistol coach and a founder coach of the WM Pistol
Squad., retiring for health reasons two years ago. He was an
inspirational, innovative and committed coach, never too busy to
lend an ear or provide support.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The funeral is on 15 Sep 1400 in Sutton Coldfield. I will attend.
Yours in sport
Trevor"
