Opportunity for Tradeswomen Working in Small Businesses or as Sole
Traders
From January 2005 AGENDA - Construction Skills for Women will be co-
ordinating a rolling programme of training for tradeswomen in
sustainable construction, restoration skills and enterprise for small
business and sole traders.
This is part of the London wide project, New Perspectives for SMEs in
Construction, to be run with our partners, Islington Enterprise
Council, The Building Crafts College, Lambeth College, English
Heritage, CITB, Faber Maunsell, Kotuku, Wilson James and associate
employers.
Training will be offered to 60 women in restoration skills including
stonemasonry, carpentry, joinery, bricklaying, roofing & tiling,
plastering, glazing, metal work and plumbing.
Training will be free to suitably qualified and experienced
tradeswomen sole traders, and women employees of SME's with a
recognised industry qualification minimum NVQ2.

We will be inviting interested participants to a consultation event
early next year at the Building Crafts College to contribute their
ideas for the design and structure of the programme.
AGENDA will be seeking to employ a Coordinator to manage the
tradeswomen's group and work with training providers Building Crafts
College and Lambeth College.
