How can you support volunteers and enhance their contribution to your
organisation?



Astra Consultancy and Training are offering a training course on how
to involve volunteers more effectively. Well-managed volunteers tend
to stick around longer and act as superb ambassadors for your
organisation and its volunteering opportunities.



The day will cover:

* Volunteering Policies

* Role Descriptions

* Supervision

* Peer Support

* Learning Opportunities

* Rewards and Recognition

* A Certificate of Attendance



The cost for this training day is £70 including handouts, draft
policies and forms and refreshments. Bookings that are made and paid
for 31st March get a discounted rate of £50 and those made before 30th
April, a discounted rate of £60.



Bursary Scheme

* Astra Consultancy and Training recognises that many good causes
struggle with limited funds. If you have a genuine interest in our
courses and can prove that the costs are proving prohibitive, we have
a limited number of bursary places on some of our events.

About the Trainer

* Catherine Holmes has worked with the voluntary and community sector
since leaving Cambridge University in 1990. She was one of the
Development Officers on the Action Learning for Managers Project which
ended in 2004. She is the author of Action Learning Matters, a
toolkit for the voluntary and community sector.

* She is on the recommended lists/directories of trainers and
consultants of the National Association of Councils for Voluntary
Service and also North Yorkshire Forum for Voluntary Organisations.

* She has recently worked for: Ability Housing, Action for Young
People with ME, NACRO, HQS, Savage, Sector Services
