I have always wanted to find a way to get students to derive the
meanings of words from context rather than translating them into
their own language. Here, in Greece, they are taught to memorize
everything. If in useing this new concept I can do that, I'll give
it a try. When should it be started though? In the beginning or at
a higher level, when they already have built up their vocabulary?
