WS Cards and pdf files

Hi Sergei and Will!

Regarding producing materials in .pdf format: You might try the "Open Office"
software. Open Office is easy to use if you are familiar with Microsoft Word
(similar visual layout, pulldown menus... and if you prefer to use keyboard
commands, even these are much the same). However, it has several advantages:

It can run on several different operating systems (including Windows).
It can produce files in different formats (including .pdf, text and Word
formats). They make if very easy to produce .pdf files by locating a button
specifically for this purpose on the main toolbar!
It can read files in different formats, including MS Word.
Open Office is also completely free. As a matter of philosophy, they
encourage sharing and distribution of their software and even make the source
code available.
You can learn more about them on their website: http://www.openoffice.org/
and about this and other Open Source software on the GNU website:
http://gnuwin.epfl.ch/en/index.html

Hope this helps!
Susan
