Main dig for R6833 will be cominng up finally. june 18th and 19th 2007
we will be mapping and surveying the crash pattern and retrieving
whatever is left.
the aim is to retirieve the cannons and whatever machine guns are left
mainly.
the merlin apparently is in a barn some three miles away from the site
and so we are going to investigate into retrieving it for the museum
in southampton or Tangmere.
RAF Tangmere is still under threat of destruction as well. anyone who
wishes to help is asked to get in touch with English Heritage and
reuest listing and scheduling for the remaining buildings.maintenance
sheds Control tower three T2 hangers Airfield apron, grass track
runway, buildings 118 118a 119 125 109 hospital unit, and airfield
crash recovery dispersal building.
