Hi Denrayuk.
Thanks for your input.
Two Mustangs are known to have crashed in the Appley/Puckpool area.
6th Feb 45- Pilots Bloxham & Palmer from 339th Fighter group based @
Fowlmere. Suspected mid-air collision in poor vis. One pilot found
the other missing, both fatal though. Bits of wreckage have turned up
from time to time. the prop and reduction gear is in a garden in Ryde
after being recovered from sandbanks. Do not know if the wreckage is
from Mustang or other aircraft or even from a ship! The photo was
taken this summer, I have several others and as far as I know the
wreckage is still there.
