Re: [Wreck Hunters forum] Joining the group.

Hi Dennis,

No I'm not from Kent, I'm in Sussex.
There are probably loads of aircraft dotted around here but I need to find a
way into a local group. If there's anyone from this area on this forum I would
be very pleased to hear from you.
Dennis I would be most interested to view your digs, thanks.

Cheers,

Clive.

Subject: [Wreck Hunters forum] Joining the group.

Hi everyone,
As a person who has had aviation in my system for as long as I can
remember,I have always been interested in aircraft history and
archaeology.
Trouble is I never pursued this part of my interest.
Recently I discovered that there are no groups in my area (
Worthing, West Sussex ). they seem to be in Somerset or Headcorn,
Kent as my nearest.
Now as I look further I find this group.....Great !

My brief profile : In Air Training Corps as a boy.

Went to Dan- Air at Lasham as trainee airframes and engines mechanic.
From there did an appreticeship as carpenter and joiner.
On completing my time as apprentice, went back to Lasham working on
gliders and light aircraft.

Types worked on :

Avro York.
Ambassador.
Dakota.
Douglas DC7 B
Comet 4.
Jodel.
Falke motor glider.
Various gliders.

Been in the Fire Service for getting on for 30 yrs and retire in
Feb '07.( so will have time to dedicate ).

Along the way I've done some gliding, got my 'D' licence in
Skydiving, and last year finished building my own side by side 2
seater taildragger, which I now have about 40 hours on.

Been flying microlight aircraft of various types for about 8 years.

It's sad I know, but I can't leave aeroplanes alone !

Look forward to hearing from someone on the group.

Regards,

Clive.
