It would certainly be better for us!
Even tho' it still wouldn't be easy at least it would give us a
sporting chance to occasionally meet with like minded folk!
Oh and a very Happy New Year to everyone here.
Regards.
The last two meetings have not been well attended I was wondering
whether more people would want to and be more able to attend if we met
in the same venue but on a Saturday afternoon?
A better idea?
Please share your thoughts!

I'm new to Leeds and looking for a group to meet new people at. I'm
new to a bisexual identity so I am looking forward to meeting other
people to talk to.

Hi,
I've just split up with my 1st girlfriend, a month after coming out to
my ultra religious parents at 30. Feel like I could do with getting
out and meeting others in a similar situation.

Hey, good as it looks on the opposite side of the Pennines, the slackers at 'Shout' still have not included a mere mention of us!
So I've resent the blub (sent 9 Sep) and left them a phone message to doubly remind them of our existance, here's hoping!

Great to see the group got a big plug in the news pages of OutNorthWest
magazine this month - I know it's mostly distributed the other side of
the Pennines but there's a fair bit of traffic across those hills on a
Saturday night!
You can see it on the pdf of the magazine at www.lgf.org. uk

Thanks Michael for the welcome...much appreciated!.
Due to commitments we can't make it to meetings during weekdays...and
no, it's not a cop-out, simply a statement of fact.
Leeds isn't the easiest place for us to get to but if a meet is
arranged for a Saturday night at any time then we might just be able
to make it.
We've joined the group to chat with and possibly meet other Bi folk
especially Bi couples. However we must emphasise that we'll not meet
with guys or girls playing away from home.
We wish all the group good luck and hope we all have fun with our
common "interest".
Regards,
passerbyeuk.

That web link wasn't quite right Michael - it's www.bicon2008.org.uk
people need.
There's not too much on there yet, but bookmark it now to come back to
later :)

It will be in Leicester from 28-31 Aug 2008.
This is the main national event on the bi calendar and will be a
gathering of several hundred. It is traditionally held on a university
campus in the summer.
If you've never been before, it is strongly recommended that you go.
It will be a weekend of workshops, meetings parties etc. Its a great
chance to meet and network with likeminded people,
This year it was held at the university of Glamorgan in Trefforest. I
recall attending workshops on such diverse topics as 'fetish wear on a
budget' beginners guide to S&M, 'Down your way' setting up local bi
groups. There was a ball on the saturday night with the theme 'film
heroes and villans'.
Many people go year after year and you should attend also as there's
something for everybody.
There's the beginnings of a website at www.bicon2008.org

A big hello to them!

Not brilliant Jen!
Only two of us showed up, one was tied up on the other side of town
and one backed out late on.
So far all the publicity done has been on the internet, I've now
started to put leaflets out around the place as well. 'Shout' never
carried the press release I sent them. I've subsequently been told
that they are not the best on the organisation front, and hopefully it
should be in the issue due out next week.
Yesterday I got an email from the wonderful Rachel at the excellent
Equity partnership in Bradford. I had asked them whether they had an
money spare so we could do some nice fliers, but they now say they
have some available, I think we have to go there at some point and
somebody will help with the design.
They've already offered the place for free at weekends and they made
me do a radio interview for Bradford Community Radio, that's BCB 96.7
FM I think it goes out next Sun from 4PM On Equity LGBT hour show.
I've contacted some student groups by email also.
So I've done plenty so far but I think I need to work at little harder
to get people to come out and play!
So the next meeting is in 2 weeks time on Wed 14 Nov at the Art Cafe
Bar, 62 Call Lane, Leeds (down from Duncan St) from 7.30PM onwards.
Come on down!
Michael
I think October 10th was supposed to be the date for the first
meet-up. Did it happen and how'd it go?
Does anyone have any thoughts how to draw more people in?

Fantastic news.
When WYBG first got up and running I know I gave details to Leeds
switchboard (who put it on their website) and to Shout! magazine, which
I'm not sure ever listed the group as I hardly ever find a copy the
places I go! But it'd be worth getting in touch with both.

Hello everyone!
My name is Michael I live in Sowerby Bridge.
I've taken on the task of reviving this group as well as you lovely
people on this list, I'll be spending some time contacting everyone
necessary about the new group plus chucking flyers around the place.
I've just done a press release:
"WEST YORKSHIRE BISEXUAL GROUP IS RE-BORN!
After a period of inactivity, bisexuals in West Yorkshire can find a
welcoming non-judgemental social space.
If you are bisexual, bicurious or not sure you can be part of a
friendly monthly gathering which welcomes all bisexual and bicurious
people and their friends, partners, and families.
The venue will be The Arts Café Bar, Call Lane, Leeds.
www.artscafebar.co.uk It will provide us with a relaxed atmosphere on
Wednesday 10 October and every second Wednesday of the month
thereafter from 7.30PM."
There will be a mobile phone no added to this, I'll let you know that
ASAP.
If it's successful, I think it would be good to try and do things on
weekends if there are people who cannot make it to Leeds in the week.
So tell me what you think! Any ideas, questions and comments most
welcome.
