Re: [WYPTE] Re: TYPG Christmas Quiz

Hi Gaz,

Interesting post there.

Talking of WYPTE buses in crashes - Fleetline 7104 WUM 104S, was totally written off in 1981 after crashing through a wall and dropping 20 ft down an embankment in Wyke.

I've got a couple of pics somewhere - I'll dig 'em out and upload them to the pictures section.

I looked up the accident in the old T&A's at Bradford Central library. It was on the 363 service and carrying many people home from Bradford to Hudds after a UB40 gig at St George's Hall. I seem to recall from the article that the conductor (remember those?!) had his leg or arm amputated.

Cheers
Paul

5034 did have the electronic display destination. It was a one liner.
e.g "LEEDS BUS STN 72"
It lost it's blind in 1992 when crashing into a canopy at Morrison's
Supermarket in Horsforth, Leeds. Ripped the front of the bus.
Totally smashed up the dest box. Also the top deck front.
Remember this cos I was there on the bus when it crashed. It was on
81 HoltPark to Pudsey. It then got the roller blinds!

Hope this helps.
Gaz
