United for Peace and Justice is at a crucial stage in our work as we prepare for the Democratic and Republican National Conventions just weeks away. Events in Denver and St. Paul, the respective locations for these conventions, provide a major opportunity for our collective antiwar voice to be heard on a national and international level. As we pressure the candidates and their parties, we will also be sending a message to people throughout the country: the war and occupation of Iraq must end and it must end now!

We need your help in this effort. We must act now to prepare for these major events to ensure that we will take full advantage of the opportunity.

As we have outlined previously, UFPJ is deeply engaged in grassroots efforts to make the demands of the antiwar movement heard throughout this election season and beyond. We have a dynamic plan of work from now until Denver and St. Paul, and beyond, and we need the financial resources to be able to carry this out.

Rarely before has the national public been so ripe to our collective voice, as the tide has turned against the continued war in Iraq long ago, and the national attention that UFPJ and the antiwar movement receives in the coming weeks could be an immense organizing tool to further rally the public to take action.
