7th February, 2010
Dear Dancers,
My heartfelt thanks go to you all for your tremendous support at this function - just enough numbers not to run into each other on the huge dance floor.
As it was a first time there for me on a Saturday night, I was very pleased with the result - thanks again for your attendance and compliments. Now that it is over I do have to admit that I was a little anxious but certainly happy with the results and general feedback.
Great also to see the new faces - please thank your friends on my behalf for their attendance and next time you bring them to one of my "not so hectic" dance venues, please remember to introduce them to me. I trust that they all enjoyed the night.
From where I was standing, the colourful costumes appropriate to the theme of the night, looked just great - thanks for getting into the spirit of the occasion, although I did not see any coconut bras which a couple of you (guys) threatened to wear.
My gratitude and many thanks also go to my "behind the scenes" loyal helpers who worked tirelessly in the days leading up to and on the night of this event for without their help and assistance, this night would not have been the success that it was.
Mum's homemade supper was certainly a hit - with not a morsel left! I am lucky to have my family's help.
Thanks also to Marilyn for the instructions in the Pearly Shells/Hula dance and to those of you who dared to compete in the competition - and of course - congratulations to its winners.
Guess I spoke a fair bit (sorry that it cut into your dancing time) but with so many professionals /dance teachers in attendance I felt it only courteous to acknowledge them when drawing the lucky raffle ticket prizes.
And onto another subject.... as previously mentioned:-
CHARITY NIGHT - PETERSHAM TOWN HALL in aid of VISION AUSTRALIA on 26.2.2010
I will be their DJ on the night and I still have a few tickets for sale so please do not hesitate to contact me on 0401 312 317 or email me if you would like to purchase same. For more information on this event, please open the attachment. I think blindness would be the worst of the senses to lose. The funds raised on the night will be going to a very worthwhile cause - especially as I know they will be channelled to assist vision impaired children. I do hope that we get capacity numbers and I'm sure that seeing Gerald Gosens (the blind chap as seen on Dancing With the Stars) and his partner Jessica Raffa will be a great attraction. Please contact me a.s.a.p. if you want tickets.
Diary Notes for this week's dances:- Wednesday 10.30AM Sandy's at Petersham Town Hall + 7.30PM Bobby's at the same venue. Thursday 7.30PM Sandy's Chinese New Year Party at Petersham Town Hall $20pp. Friday 10.30AM Sandy's at Petersham Town Hall + 8PM Arthur's at Top Ryde Civic Centre with Betty's famous Supper.
Saturday 8PM Michael's at Top Ryde Civic Centre and Sunday 6PM Arthur's at Dee Why RSL. So you are spoilt for choices!
That it for this session folks!
All the best,
Yoppy
