The Afghanistan Foreign Press Association

AFPA was informally launched in Kabul at the Mustafa Hotel on 6 May 2004.

The original founding article was signed by the founders on 31 July 2003.

The framed document is on display now at the Gandamack Lodge in Kabul.

AFPA aims to provide a forum for foreign media professionals working in Afghanistan to meet and exchange views.

AFPA also acts as a first port of call for visiting journalists and a source of practical information.

Most importantly subscribe to this email group to keep in touch and exchange information.

So far the email group is proving useful for receiving press releases, exchanging advice on accommodation, fixers, transport and more.

AFPA aims to hold regular meetings in Kabul.

AFPA particularly remembers all international and Afghan journalists killed or wounded in Afghanistan.

The Association also remembers Wais Faizi of the Mustafa Hotel who died in 2006 and was such a generous friend to many journalists.
