  • I'd second David's request. A peak hold function would be really useful for spotting 'fleeting' signals. Having used many professional spectrum analysers it's the main feature that I miss in Spectrum Spy too. Would it also be possible to get it to scan in defined step sizes ? By doing this it bay be possible to speed up the scan and also fix the rounding errors, so that when a...

  • Hi John , This was previously answered just a few days ago in this group. You need to install the frequency scanner plugin. Russian website so use Google translate. http://www.rtl-sdr.ru/page/obnovlen-skaner-4 Place the files in your SDR Sharp directory and then add the 'magic line' to the plugins.xml file. Alternatively use this plugin instead which has it's own installer. http...

  • Ah OK thanks. I assume it only functions when a decimation value is selected ? Experimentation with reception close to strong pager signals suggests that this is the case. Regards, Martin - G8JNJ www.g8jnj.net www.tc2m.info http://websdr.suws.org.uk/

  • Hi, Can you provide some more details WRT dynamic range optimization ? I've downloaded and installed 1483 but the 'Enable HDR' box remains grayed out even when decimation is selected. What am I doing wrong ? Regards, Martin - G8JNJ www.g8jnj.net www.tc2m.info http://websdr.suws.org.uk

  • Hi, OK all understood. They were only suggestions for enhancements made to the wider SDR# community, including developers. I thought that this forum was probably the most likely place to open up ideas for discussion, but maybe I misunderstood and that is not the case. Can you can advise of a more suitable method or forum ? Regards, Regards, Martin - G8JNJ www.g8jnj.net www.tc2m.info http://websdr.suws.org.uk

  • Hi, I've been using the new bandplan option in SDR# and think it's really great. I'd like to make a few suggestions for possible incorporation into future releases. 1. Would it be possible to have a slider to adjust the transparency of the bandplan overlay ? 2. Would it be possible to place the bandplan line on the spectrum or waterfall, or perhaps anywhere on the spectrum display...

  • Hi, Would it be possible to add a 'Max Hold' feature to Spectrum Spy or implement some additional traces that can be customised ? I'd like to be able to leave it running for a few hours so that I can see where there has been some activity, then I can explore the frequency range in more detail. Alternatively could a threshold line be set, and any signals above the threshold be...

  • OK that's great news. Are the fields that can be used in the XML file defined anywhere ? Regards, Martin - G8JNJ www.g8jnj.net www.tc2m.info http://websdr.suws.org.uk

  • Hi, This is a very useful addition. Here are two more suggestions. Would it be possible to include tuning step and mode descriptors to the XML band plan file ? This could be used to preset the parameters when the SDR is tuned to a designated band Would it be possible to modify Spectrum Spy so that it can also use the same XML band plan file ? This would be useful when trying to...
