Group Description

BASS stands for Basic Astronomical Spectroscopy Software. BASS Project is a free Microsoft Windows based application is designed to help fellow amateur astronomers to perform full reduction processing and analysis of spectral images. The application is easy to use and although targeted at entry and intermediate level users, it is increasingly becoming very useful for the more experienced.

Downloads are available via the 'More' -> 'Links' -> 'BASS Project downloads' folder.

The latest supported & documented version of BASS Project with a full installer is 1.9.7 (released May 2017). Keep an eye out for new functionality in new patch releases.

In addition to the user guide, there is a page containing screen recording videos to help you get up to speed. See Links -> BASS Project Screen Recordings.

This group provides support for all amateur astronomers using the BASS Project application for amateur spectroscopy. Feel free to ask for help or offer suggestions for enhancements or collaborations.
