I have a 1984 528e with a weird problem. The battery kept running down.
I kept trying to find the problem, but I was not successful until I
left the charger plugged in over night. I went to open the driver's
door and it was HOT! I looked in the manuals and found that there is a
door lock heater built into the car. Does anybody know what triggers
the thing to turn on and off or how to disable it without killing the
      power door lock?

      Thanks!!

      Joe
