  • jay. how much for the 3.4 ? Could it be put in a 85 318i ? How about the 528e (83 model)I wish i had the 4 speed automatic, all i have is the 3 speed, i do have a 82 528e with the 5 speed manual tranny blew the head gasket on that one and am afraid the head might be warped, i drove the car for a year like that, and never overheated again as long as i kept the coolant level correct...

  • does your car have a automatic transmission? If so if it has not got a trans fluid cooler you might add one other wise that small a trailer should be no problem , just don't do any jack rabbit starts, for example don't race with your buddys honda, he will win and you will put more of a already strain on your drive train ie the transmission. keep motoring --- "Serg" wrote: Hey guys...

  • If you have a cluster without the batteries, then someone removed that board, again those batteries have nothing to do with the speedometer, fuel economy gauge , and tach, the only function these batteries are for is to keep the memory for the service indicator lights, to let you know when to change the oil. I removed that board from the instrument cluster on my 83 528e , and the...

  • if you want $70 just to replace the rechargeable batteries, I'd hate to get a price to replace those rubber gears that run the odometer. I am not a engineeer myself but that is a a piece of cake job. --- steve wrote: Try replacing the SIL batteries in the guage cluster. I have done several times myself. These rechargeable batteries die after awhile requiring new ones to be...

  • Hello, First thing you need is to go buy the Hynes Manual from the local parts store, not this best but ok it does show the steps good to change the water pump. If you read the manual you notice that the fan clutch is left hand threads so beating on it assuming it is right hand threads is only going to cause anger, and bruised knuckles. While you have everything apart , replace...
