  • Well I finally got round to taking the door panels off on my '83 520i to inspect the central locking. There's no wiring or mechanics anywhere near the plastic disc in the passenger's side door, so it looks like there was never any kind of lock/unlock button there. I guess you're just supposed to do the locking from the driver's side? I'm not sure what to check now for the dead...

  • Sorry, I should have given a bit more detail. When I use the key to lock or unlock any of the doors (or the boot/trunk), only that door locks or unlocks. Nothing happens in any of the other doors or the boot, or the fuel filler flap. I've read before about a case where you would lock the doors and they would immediately unlock again, but it's not even doing that - the other locks...
