  • "M" "///M BMW" "///M" Etc. are all the same. M-Technic is the long version of the above. " /// " is a simple version of showing the "M colors" people tend to use that a lot in E-mail signatures Etc. -Dana ----- Original Message ----- From: asexybimmergirl To: bmwe28@^$1 Sent: Wednesday, March 19, 2008 10:00 Subject: [bmw e28] Is an M-Technic the same as ///M BMW Just wondering what...

  • Hello, I have a question for all of you regarding my e28, 1986 528e. I have some ideas about this but am looking for others input/ideas to help narrow things down. I have heard about people geting no heat or little heat. My problem now is that I get all heat and nothing but heat regardless if I have the Temp. control knob all the way to the left or right. What should I check first...

  • I know this sounds silly but on my E28 I found I was geting a fuel smell when I filled up. At some point I got into that habit of filling up as full as I could, well I read in a repair manual that it is bad to do that even on a brand new BMW as it can overflow into the charcol canister/filter and cause problems Etc. So I made sure to stop that and the smell issue as gone away 99...

  • Sami, As for your damp boot, make sure you remove ALL the trim in it on a day you have some free time including the spare tire, Etc. Get a shop light and shine it all around and look for any rust that could be a entry point or even holes. Many times with all the trim and the tire Etc. people find they have a hole in the boot and never knew it. Many times people will spend a lot of...

  • Because your OBC lost power. Because it lost power it reset it self to it's default programing/format from the country it came from ( Germany ). Most of the world uses metric including Germany so you have to change the computer to display in non-metric if you want. It is a little more tricky on the e28s then on the new BMWs but not much. There in an indented reset button on the...

  • Hmmm Well there are two lights in the on board computer. You can rule out the Battery pack as they only use the cars power(disconect the car Bat. you loose all the memory in the OBC). I have had BOTH light bulbs go bad on a OBC in a older BMW I had. One is a back like for the butttons that is twist on bulb like in the Inst. cluster and the other is a more special bulb that is a...

  • Wow that is a great idea :-). I wish they would have put those is situation more like your fix. Perhaps in the trunk area like under the footwell trim pannel so that you could remove a few screws and change them. ( then again they last forever(LOL) ). -Dana ----- Original Message ----- From: Blake Nancarrow To: bmwe28@^$1 Sent: Tuesday, January 23, 2007 15:06 Subject: [bmw e28] Re...

Some companies keep Info. on models going back 20 years. -Dana ----- Original Message ----- From: Gerald Paul To: bmwe28@^$1 Sent: Thursday, November 23, 2006 11:16 Subject: Re: Fw: [bmw e28] Re: Helpful links for parts about sensors Do...
