  • I have a problem my fellow e28ers! I have an 87 535i, and recently my family members have been buying BMWs. My father got a 135i and my brother just got a 2000 328Ci. I cannot catch the 135i, it has the 6 speed and is nasty quick. But I can catch the 328Ci, I just need a good turbo. Any suggestions? • Ya, I backed them all off and they are correct. I was able to get it running for a few minutes without the air mass meter, which I thought was strange. My idle was higher than normal but I never was able to get it to start before without having the air meter plugged in. And as soon as I plug the meter in, the car dies. Instantly. Any thoughts? • that sucks dude, same thing happened to me. but i put in too much tranny fluid. I replaced the driveshaft 850.00 and had the tranny rebuilt for 2300.00. probably be better to buy a parts car with a good tranny and have it swapped.
