  • Hi, If the valve seals are worn the oil will run in to the combustion area causing the car to have access smoke from the exhaust. You say the the oil light is flickering in sync. with a noise I would have the oil pump or the mounting of the pump to the block checked which is critical for a flow seal. • Another possibility the fuel outlet on the top of the tank, the rubber gasket can fail causing the fuel to spill over.. there is a access cover in the boot floor with three screws ,so next time you fill up check for leaks. good luck John from Oz. ----- Original Message ---- From: john holst To: bmwe28@^$1 Sent: Wednesday, 24 October, 2007 8:49:19 PM Subject: Re: [bmw e28] Fuel...

  • Well on my e28 all you need to do is press a button on the side of back rest level with your shoulder, that allows you to adjust the head rest it should release it as well. .( the button is flush with the seat fabric on the left side) The rear headrests just pull straight up to remove no buttons. • Have you checked the condition of the radiator on the front face which can show a break down of the core ,unlike the back face which can look good. • Both metric and imperial tires handle well . I believe "metric" measure was born in germany so it seem like a good idea to place metric tires on german cars. There is no reason to pay for over priced tires, when either will do the job. • Hi wheel worries, Try talking to your local alloy wheel supplier you may be surprised he will be able to match up your car with matching 15" or 16" sizes. The combo I put on my car ( 16"x 7" wheels) with 205 / 55 / 16" tires. this maintains the same overall dia. But with use of cheaper imperial tires. • Well for the last few months My 528i has been a lazy starter,I have to crank the engine for approx 3 to 4 seconds before it starts, it runs ok. I soon noticed a leak from the fuel pump body (not the hoses) I purchased a new bosch pump for $200 ozzy. To my surprise the engine kicks over instantly...obviously the fuel system was down on pressure. Just thought I'd tell you guys...
