  • Hello everyone. Found a leaking cold start valve this morning and also noticed a dangling vacuum line that originates under the manifold right near the (cold start) injector. On the top end, it is attached to a nipple that points straight down. Can anyone tell me where the other end of this vacuum line needs to be connected? Thanks. Guy( --- luciemarkgreenland2002 wrote: > Hi fellow...

  • Brett: I have been told you need a specially cut key (very pricey) if I want a spare key made. I have gone to a hardware store and had a 3 dollar key cut from a regular blank and cannot find ANYTHING that the new, cheap key cannot do (compared to the factory-supplied one). Mine is an 88 535is. Good luck. Guy --- Brett Peavey wrote: > can you believe this...what a shitty day. is...

  • Brett: If you contact BMW with the VIN number (and proof of ownership) they will be able to give a locksmith the necessary info to cut a new key. takes a little time but better than the alternative. otherwise, a qualified locksmith might be able to give you an assist by drilling out the trunk lockset and replacing with a new one (maybe not keyed the same, though).. Good luck. Guy...

  • I recently had a 3.5 litre engine rebuilt on my 88 535is. It was supposed to be replaced with a 30K used engine but the mechanic decided to rebuild my 250K engine instead.... without telling me. It's truly unbeleivable. Anyway, I will be reunited with the car next week. Can anyone tell me the correct break-in procedure (I have to assume for the moment that a rebuild was actually...
