  • Chances are your tracks could need new lubricating grease for the rear windows. This improved the speed of my rear windows in my '85 535i. It's possible the switch is defective, or wiring is no longer connected, in the front door. I'd check that first! These motors can be costly. -----Original Message----- From: bmwe28@^$1 [mailto:bmwe28@^$2] On Behalf Of David Rodriguez Sent...

  • BMW Window Circut Breaker - This is the rectangular switch, located above the radio in most models. Some early cars have it located in the under dash panel. It has a fuse in side and disables the windows if the motors overload. -----Original Message----- From: bmwe28@^$1 [mailto:bmwe28@^$2] Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2005 2:18 AM To: bmwe28@^$3 Subject: [bmw e28] New file uploaded...

  • It could be unbalanced, out of round tire, or a slightly bent wheel. Try rotating front to rear and see if the shudder disappears. If it does, then swap left front and rear, then right front and rear to find the culprit! It's a little work but worth it to find the problem. -----Original Message----- From: bmwe28@^$1 [mailto:bmwe28@^$2] On Behalf Of Andrew W. Hill Sent: Wednesday...

  • You probably have a sensor wire loose or broken. There's one on left front and right rear typically. These wear indicators are a closed circuit, and when the wear indicator is worn through, it opens the circuit turning on the service light. When replacing pads it's reocmmended replacing these if they did their job! Otherwise you can pull the bulb! -----Original Message----- From...

  • My wipers had stopped working on intermittent and low speed, but worked pretty good (most of the time) on high speed. Then I removed the wiper control relay and repaired it. All of the connectors were loose and/or on the verge of completely disconnecting. I remove the relay carefully, and removed the cover from the little circuit board that connects the relay circuits. I re...

  • The window circuit breaker on the lower panel that goes around the steering column, to the right of the steering column. This switch will disable or enable the windows. If this doesn't work, check the fuses and then ensure the wiring hasn't come loose from this circuit breaker.
