So I replaced that. after that I started fine once I took it out for a drive.   • Hey everyone I am trying to change my starter on my 1988 535i and am having a really hard time getting the bottom bolt. I am tying to figure out if there is any trick to get to this bolt? I got the top 2 with a box wrench but the bottom doesnt really have enough room to use a wrench and I can not seem to get my socket on the bolt because of the way it sits up against the starter...

  • Hey Chris Right now it�s just the gauge is saying it�s over heating. It�s always in the red. I am not losing any Coolant. I installed a new sensor and that didn�t fix the problem. So I installed an aftermarket sensor and gauge and removed my thermostat and if I let the car idel for 5 minutes it says it puts the gauge in the red. I have opened the bleeder screw for 5 minutes...

I have replaced the waterpump, theromstat, clutch fan, radiator, is suppose to be new. I have changed the senor to the computer and to the gauge however it was an aftermarket sensor for the gauge because the local BMW dealer isnt sure what sensor I have. I know...

  • Hey everyone I have a 1988 535i and was told today that I have to replace the right rear spindle/hub assembly because the gear for the abs sensor is shot. I know I can pick one up at the dealer but would like to find a used one if possible. thanks for the help Scott

Ok I just purchased a 1988 535I with ABS It needs brakes and rotors and I am trying to figure out if this is something I can do myself or should take it in to my mechanic? I have changed brakes in the past. Also is there a way to clear the Inspection light on the dash. I am assuming its coming on because of the brakes? last thing, Its an auto but...
