  • last week had a coolant hose that broke...lost all coolant but luckily pulled over and had car towed and got problem fixed. A week later, went out of town which required some low speeds on trail at camp (5 miles or so of driving). Later that day, car would not engage and gears starting slipping and soon car would barely move. Reverse worked fine though. Had car towed and repair...

  • Battery drain problem. Noticed driver's side door lock was very hot. Removed fuse 5 until I can fiqure out how to disconnect heating element? Is it safe to drive with fuse 5 removed? Also, left turn signal indicator (bulb) (same side as the driver's door lock) in instrument panel is out. Did this start the problems or was it the door lock cylinder heater all along? • I have been noticing that the auxiliary fan (blue ceramic) fuse (25A) is somewhat melting...but the fuse is not blown -just very discolored. I just put in a new one. The end points that hold the fuse is not that secure as a result of the melting. Should I decrease the Amp a size down? What risk to the entire fuse box? Many thanks

  • 1986 528(e) has faint cracks in fuel return hose that is next to cold start valve. I would like to change it but am not sure whether the entire hose is one piece. It seems to be connected in a T fashion but I do not any bracket. Also, size of the hose -diameter is not clear? Any pointers? Thanks

  • Had mine done recently but now notice a constant whine from the pre-pump. Is this ominous? Does it mean that the screen is clogged? Thanks. ________________________________ From: bmwe28@^$1 [mailto:bmwe28@^$2] On Behalf Of bimmernutjob Sent: Saturday, August 25, 2007 1:55 PM To: bmwe28@^$3 Subject: [bmw e28] Re: 1986 528(e) ; m20 will not start I may not have been clear enough: 1...
